			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>REMERONSolTab® has been approved by the Food and Drug Administration for the treatment of major depressive disorders in adults.  Since major depression is also a cause of insomnia, then it can be deduced that REMERONSolTab® can also help with insomnia.</p>
<p>Remeron is a type of drug called a tetracyclic antidepressant. It helps chemicals in the brain that become unbalanced and cause depression. It increases the activity of serotonin and norepinephrine which are two hormones that are consider mood elevators.</p>
<p>Before taking Remeron, it is important that you discuss with your doctor if you have bipolar disorder, kidney or liver disease, seizures, heart problems especially a history of heart attack or stroke and if you have a history of drug abuse or have had suicidal thoughts. </p>
<p>It will take up to several weeks of using Remeron before your symptoms improve. For best results, you must keep using the medication as directed. Talk with your doctor if your symptoms do not improve after 4 weeks of treatment. You should not drink alcohol while taking Remeron as it may increase some of the side effects of this drug. Remeron can cause impaired thinking as well as reaction times.  Be careful if you drive or do anything that requires you to be awake and alert.</p>
<p>You need emergency help if you have any of these signs of an allergy reaction.  These include hives or skin rash, swelling of  lips, face, throat, or tongue, or difficulty breathing. </p>
<p>Call your doctor if you have any worsening of symptoms or new symptoms such as mood or behavior changes.  You should also let your doctor know if you feel irritable, agitated, hostile, restless, hyperactivity, more depressed, or have thoughts of hurting yourself.  Also call your doctor at once if you have any side effects such as fever, chills, flu symptoms, sores in your mouth or on your lips or the feeling of passing out. </p>
<p>Many other drugs react with Remeron.  They include allergy medication, pain medication, sleeping pills, muscle relaxers, medication for seizures, depression and anxiety can add to drowsiness caused by Remeron. Tell your doctor if you need to use any of these other medicines while you are taking Remeron. </p>
<p>There may also be other drugs that can react with Remeron.  So it is important to tell your doctor about all over the counter and prescription medications, minerals, herbs, vitamins or prescriptions from other doctors. </p>

<p>Sleep apnea is a sleep disorder where a person stops breathing during sleep.  This can happen as often as several hundred times during sleep.  Loud snoring is a warning sign that you may have sleep apnea. </p>
<p>If you have sleep apnea, you are not aware of this difficulty breathing, even when awakened. Sleep apnea is usually noticed by others who notice these episodes while you are sleeping.  Symptoms may be present for years or even decades without being identified.  You may have become use to the daytime fatigue and sleepiness which is associated with any sleep disorder. </p>
<p>Sleep apnea causes the throat to collapse during sleep, blocking the airway and stopping air from getting to the lungs.  Usually your throat muscles keep the throat and airway open.</p>
<p>Causes of an obstructed airway include the shape of the head and neck, large tonsils or adenoids, excess weight or obesity or abnormally relaxed throat or tongue muscles. <br />Because sleep medication can over sedate you, it can abnormally relax throat muscles and tongue and you may not start breathing again. <p>A CPAP machine is one form of treatment for sleep apnea. A CPAP machine blows pressurized air into a mask which is worn over the nose and this keeps the airway open during sleep. This is the most common long-term treatment for severe sleep apnea.</p>
<p>Oral devices such as dental appliances open the patient’s airway by bringing the lower jaw or tongue forward during sleep. Two oral devices are the Tongue Retaining Device and the Mandibular Repositioning Device. </p>
<p>Surgical removal of excess tissues such as adenoids, tonsils, or any tissue inside the nose or any tissue at the back of the throat increases the size of your airway, allowing for better airflow during sleep.</p>
<p>If you suspect that you or anyone in your family suffers from sleep apnea, it is critical that you see a sleep specialist.  Doctors who specialize in sleep medicine help people who are unable to sleep well. Sleep doctors are able to detect and treat both common and rare sleep disorders. </p>
<p>There are many sleeping pills for helping with sleep that your doctor can prescribe.  But these are only a temporary solution to a long term problem. Nights when I have insomnia I just can’t seem to turn my mind off and often can’t even close my eyes. </p>
<p>People with insomnia feel tired and out of sorts and they can have a hard time remembering things. Lack of sleep also affects how people function at work and while driving. . Insomnia can be the only source of these problems but it can also be the result of another sleep disorder or medical problem so if you consistently have problems with feeling tired, problems remembering and just not functioning up to par, you should discuss these problems with your family doctor and have a complete check up. </p>
<p>Niacin is vitamin B-3, which is a water soluble B-complex vitamin. One of niacin’s properties is it helps a person relax naturally and get to sleep faster naturally. Insomnia can also be caused by stress either at work or at home, depression, uninviting sleeping area, too much light in the room, drinking alcohol, eating heavy meal before bedtime, muscle tension,  drugs, too much caffeine, bad mattress, pregnancy or any number of reasons.  Insomnia can also be the symptom of a more serious medical problem.
